Birthday Boy

On August 24 was Finn's first birthday. Where has time gone? It still seems like yesterday that we went to the hospital (in a hurry!) to meet our little boy. (His birth is a whole different story.)
The night before his birthday Neil and I decorated the living room and set up the "birthday table" with Finn's gifts. In the morning I sang "Happy Birthday" to Finn and he got to play with his new "Laugh and Learn Play Home". Neil came home early from work and helped with preparations for the afternoon party.
Since both our families live far away and couldn't come here for his birthday we invited a few friends over. We decided to keep it small with just 4 kids and 7 adults. It was a really nice get-together. The children played with Finn's new toys and the adults got to visit and talk and eat. At night another family from church came by. At the end of the day Finn was pretty exhausted, but happy.
Now, our baby is officially a "toddler". He is a healthy, happy little person and makes us smile a hundred times a day.

Introduction

Well, we decided to start an online diary to keep you all posted (so to speak) about what is going on over here. Since most of you who read this do not live in Germany I will write in English (please excuse any mistakes). Maybe Neil will write a couple posts, too, but mostly it will be me.
The main topic will be our little son, Finn, as he is probably the one you would like to read about most. I hope you will enjoy the pictures and little stories I will post.
